I lay beneath trees.
Clouds tear against high branches
As I think of you.

This week I was walking along the Mogollon Rim, which is mountain country and still touched by winter. There were, however, a few spring flowers poking up through the brown pine needles on the forest floor. One of these flowers is the low-growing wood betony. Such odd flowers if you look at them closely.
